Hello All,
Just a quick update on the trip to move Canatara out of Stuart, Florida to
her winter slip in St. James Plantation Marina, NC:
Departed Stuart October 13, 0800 and arrived at our final destination October
23, 1300.
Total distance - 679 s.m., avg of 61.7 s.m. per day
Engine hours - 87.6
Average speed of 6.74 knots
Fuel prices - $1.38 plus tax at Daytona Marina and Boatyard
- $1.09 plus tax at Florida Petroleum Ferdinanda Beach
- $1.34 plus tax at Isle of Hope Marina Georgia
- $1.21 plus tax at Cricket Cove Marina north of Little
River SC
Problems? 1) Captain didn't understand fuel manifold system which resulted in
draining a tank in Mosquito Lagoon, necessitating a bleed on both engines. 2)
Captain concerned about strange noise in starboard running gear south of
Daytona which resulted in a haulout. No problem detected with boat. Possible
problem with captain.
All in all, a great trip. If anyone is in the Southport, NC area over the
next 5 months, call me at 704-616-0812 (cell) to get together the marina at
St. James.
Regards,
John Garrison
