Although I'm familiar with Oxalic acid, I really didn't know what it
was, so I went and did a little searching. One interesting fact is that
it's contained in Rhubarb leaves, so maybe you could rub these on your
hull if you find a field full of them.

The formula for anyone interested is H2C2O472 H2O. You've got all that
oxygen loosely linked in there, so it probably works like an oxygen
"bleach", oxidizing all that crud. As far as adding it to Muriatic acid
solutions, my guess is that it would just disassociate and would leave
the solution as CO2 and maybe some hydrogen. I wouldn't recommend it,
but hey... if you try it out, let us know if it fizzes!

OTOH, mixing Oxalic acid with any detergent or soap would make the
solution able to wet a surface and would probably make it a lot more
effective. TSP is a really effective cleaner, just watch how strong you
make it. At high concentrations, it can be a paint remover.

She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
