Arild,
I think the Peletier (sp?) effect electronic coolers are
fundamentally limited to about a 40 degree F delta T. The way
that freezing temperatures can be achieved is by "cascading" the
units, so that the cold side of the first unit is in contact with
the hot side of the second unit. With just two units cascaded,
you get about 80 degree F delta T, or a 10F freezer on a 90F day.

Efficiency of the Peletier units is poor, however, using about
3-4 times the energy to cool as a good "freon" unit. On boats,
they have some application as a day-cooler, to keep drinks cold
on the bridge while underway and plenty of cheap 12v power is available.
