We just finished transiting the Tenn-Tom and the
Tennessee R upstream all the way to Knoxville. I
found the depths to be always at least the advertised
9 feet, and usually much more. The only time I
touched bottom was in Dayton, TN, trying to reach the
city dock which the cruising guide said should have
5.5' going in and at the dock (at the actual water
level that day). I found the depth to be about 4'
going in, with Pooh's 4'8" draft. Mud and old leaf
debris plugged the intake thru-hull, the strainer, and
the transmission cooler. It took 90 mins to clean it
all out.
