Robert, thanks for your suggestion to turn off screen and power savers (see
attached). Unfortunately it did not help in my situation. VNS continues to
crash while we cruise.

I have some screen dumps that VNS displays when it crashes. I am going to
send these to Nobeltec in hopes that it will help in solving my problem and
strengthening their software.

Jim: I had this problem and had to keep rebooting to bring the application
back up (VNS 6.5.616 version....as well as my former version). Turns out
the problem wasn't VNS, but rather MS 98, in my case.

The solution (suggested by AutoNav tech) worked for me....it follows:

Turn off the application (VNS)

1. From "Control Panel", click on "Display"
2. Click on "Properties"
3. At the "Display Properties" window, click on "Screen Saver" tab.
4. Make sure "Screen Saver" is selected to "NONE"
5. In lower right area of window, click on "Settings"
6. In "Power Schemes", make sure "Always On" is selected.
7. In lower boxes, ("turn off"), select "NEVER" for both!
8. Then select "Apply" or "OK" and exit.

The point apparently is that we shouldn't use screen savers or power savers
when running nav programs....and I guess MS 98 and possibly ME and 2000
install with them activated as a default.

Anyway, my AutoNav PC has never "crashed" again while running VNS.

                                      Good luck,
