I picked up a copy of Heavy Weather Guide, by Kotch and Henderson
The latest, second edition is dated 1984 and is a "little" tiny bit
outdated. Mostly technical things like radio and fax stuff.
This is one excellent book. Very often when the rest of us are debating
something related to this topic, material from this book will pop up,
without anyone even realizing it.
There are pictures galore, some almost too graphic to look at.
There is a letter from Admiral Nimitz, which at the time was a secret
classified document about tropical storm tactics.
This letter is first rate and should examined carefully by anyone going
anywhere near a TS.
Besides tactics, specific hurricanes, gear, there is summary info about TS
storms for the last 400 years.
Almost 400 pages. Used copies are about $25
This is going onto my recommended list, right now.
