This reminded me of a guy on my dock. He is sooooooo cheap! How cheap is
he? Well, he bought a new 15 hp Yamaha and took a hair dryer to the decal
and replaced it with a Yamaha 8 decal. He said it was to discourage theft.
I thought that was nuts because a thief would grab an 8 as fast or faster
than a 15 (thinking it was lighter and easier to make a quick getaway). In
order to be a pleasant neighbor, I find myself saying "Whatever" to myself
during conversations like this and finding a reason to quickly get back to
my boat projects.

Several months later I was having a 3 way conversation on the dock with this
same guy and another fellow. The subject of licensing and installing
numbers on an inflatable came up. The first guy proudly proclaims to the
other "I do not need to pay for a license or install numbers because my
boat is under 12 feet and under 10 hp!"

I say to myself "Ooooooh, so that's the real reason...... Whatever!!!"
