Subject: TWL: Snipping
From: Mark Richter (Richter-Pooh@XXX.XXX)
Date: Wed Jul 03 2002 - 16:02:41 EDT
I've plowed through about 385 accumulated TWL messages
over the last two days, and am disappointed again at
the lack of courtesy we are exhibiting toward the web
disadvantaged among us. Cruisers who access their
e-mail via cellphone, SSB, Satellite or HAM are
severely bandwidth limited. If we want to keep these
extremely interesting folks with us, we need to reduce
useless clutter on the TWL.
Please do not quote entire messages to which you are
replying. Turn off the feature of you web browser or
e-mail that automatically quotes the entire previous
message. If you don't know how, ask someone on the
TWL help team, they'll be happy to help.
It is particularly irritating to see a one-line reply
followed by one, two or three long related messages,
when just the subject line was adequate to identify
the issue being replied to.
