Subject: TWL: Watermakers and Water Heaters

I solved the electric water heater problem 15 years ago on my Morgan
OI/51 with a Paloma "instant on" propane water heater. I bought one for
my trawler 10 years ago and recently replaced it with a Bosch 38B LP for
$350. All the cruisers using Block Island as a staging area for the trek
south around the end of October would get really mad at me as I hosed
down the boat (at anchor) with steaming hot water.
Propane usage as a full time live-a-board is one 20# tank every 35-40
days and that includes the propane stove and oven. See my earlier post
on replacing the valves on the old aluminum propane tanks. I carry 3
20# tanks and can usually find propane at under $10.
Regards....

didn't
do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away
from
the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
