For those of you who may have old laptops - on your trawler, of course, (I
had to make this trawler related :) , the following may be of interest.
My laptop is an oldie and too good to trash, but the battery was shot and
would not hold a charge. It is a NEC Ready 340T with a battery made
apparently only for that model. Prices online varied from $159 to $248, but
only a few places even carry them, as it is too old. I took the old battery
pack to our local specialty battery shop and had the individual cells
replaced with the same type (Ni-MH) cells. Cost: $80 plus tax.
