It just occurred to me that the old "collision mat" idea might be adapted
to launching a wooden boat which has been dried out for a while.
Wrap the hull in a tarp which should slow down water inflow from any
opened seams.
Assuming you cannot leave the hull hanging in the slings for a few
days;
( normal procedure in yards where the boat is slipped under a covered roof
and simply lifted for the winter)
how about fastening flotation collars consisting of inflated inner tubes
for trucks.
Each pair would be strapped on opposite sides of the hull.
