A trick I learned long ago from the owner of a boatyard who was helping me
build a racing hydro that had all of the hull in an unpainted, highly
varnished mahogany ply:
Take a large nail and punch holes every 2-3 inches down in the rim in the
"can seal". This allows you to wipe the brush each time in the original can
and any "goo" flows back into the can. Also works for paint cans.
