As a boat owner you prabably know what I'm about to tell you, but, unless
you have an unlimited budget (i.e. buy a new boat) you need to think about
the time it will take to get this boat in shape for an extensive trip. My
own experience is, no mater how carefully you inspect a boat you want to
buy, there is always more to repair then is seen during the "buying
process". So I would put more time between the "purchase date" and the
"Sailing (powering) off into the sunset date". BTW, you've come to the
right place for advise...jd
