Darby asked whether those who have the combo-matic washers on the boat use
them when they are in a marina or just while at anchor.

We use ours all the time, even when the marina machines are 100ft away.
Basically, the on boat unit is smaller and slower than a full size home unit
found in a marina, but they are on the boat so the clothes are put in and
forgotten about - just as in a house. The units will go automatically from
wash to dry so they are turned on and left.

Admiral has declared the washer/dryer a necessity, period.
