Hi Folks,
If the problem is silicone induced fish eye then there is a simple solution.
It's called "Fish Eye Eliminator" and your best bet for finding it would be
through a furniture refinishing company. My former employer sold the stuff
but only in 1 & 5 gallon quantities. My recollection is that the product was
expensive and that a gallon would probably be a lifetime supply for your
whole yacht club. Our customers didn't like buying the stuff because of the
expense but they said that there really wasn't much choice since silicone
contamination can get quite deep into the wood so that it's virtually
impossible to remove.
