Fiberglass exhaust tubing works fine for straight
runs, is cheaper than rubber, and will probably last
longer. Rubber exhaust hose is necessary for curves,
and to connect to the vibrating engine. On Winnie the
Pooh, I used fiberglass (flame retardant) on the
straight aft section, and rubber in the forward and
curved sections. Both, of course, are only for water
cooled exhausts.
