What is desired blackwater holding tank size?
One datapoint - last spring we installed about a 66 gal blackwater holding
tank prior to our trip to some of the no-discharge zones in Desolation
Sound, which gave us about 1.5 - 2 days of capacity with 6 - 8 people on
board.
Marine Sanitation in Seattle ordered a poly tank custom-made to our space
available and plumbed it into the system with y-valves. All in all it works
very well with no significant odor, and gives us more endurance in
no-discharge zones that we would have otherwise had.
