TWL: Exhaust rubber or fiberglass

Ahoy!
Hope everyone had a pleasant holiday(s).
I'm replacing my exhaust from the motor's 'Y' pipe to the transom. Diameter
is 6" and approx 15' long. Original exhaust is rubber hose. After 30+
years, it's time to change. I'm thinking about using fiberglass exhaust
tubing in lieu of hose. Was wondering what the consensus is concerning
these two materials. Tubing is about 1/2 price but don't want to compromise
safety. Were diesel, natural aspirated 2 cycle, 250 hp with the exhaust
outlet 1/2 submerged at rest. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Also, concerning the Dec's posts about the cutlass bearings. I have
successfully replaced all 6 using the threaded rod method. One was a bear,
but it gave way eventually.

Thanx in advance!!!
Chris
