The symptom you describe will happen if the dock voltage drops
significantly - like to 80 or 90 volts. As voltage goes down .... amps have
to go up. You end up trying to get the 90 volt carrier to bring you the
same amps as the 118 volt carrier and things burn out.
PS: Very bad for motors and computers too.
