Arild is much more qualified to answer this than I am but I will remind the
list of the problems inherent in trying to draw a steady 20 amps plus over
your typical boat/marina plug interface.
This is a good way to set your boat on fire.
I eliminated the ship side of the plug in by running a very heavy piece of
cab tire (8 gauge) all the way from my panel onboard to the dock. This is
primarily for our winter season and I simply thread the end up thru the
anchor locker on its way to the dock.
Since taking these fitting apart yearly is ESSENTIAL, in order to clean
contacts and re establish, my "thru the locker" routing forces me to redo
the connections.
