There must be a leak somewhere in my V berth, either
dingy winch, anchor locker, or hatch. I went out this
weekend and bought a 30 pint dehumidifier. Floor model
was nearly half the price of new! So in it goes,
nearly as tall as the V berth (bed to ceiling) . aobut
3/4 in from the ceiling. I set it directly under the
hatch. Next few days should tell what happens. I htink
I like the idea of canvas hatch cover. Something I
thought about a while ago and didnt recall until
someone on the list pointed it out. This unit is large
and takes up valuable space. No more sleeping in the V
berth until it dries up around here.
I ran the dehumid for about 12 hours and had about 4
pints in it. I somewhat dislike running it
constalntly. Its a bit loud, draws about 700+ watts,
and is large. Better solutions exist and I might
explore these.
