12v appliances generally (there is that word again) stink. And they are
expensive.
I had looked into some 12v appliances before deciding to go with an inverter
and I found that with just a few items - Coffee maker, TV-VCR, Teapot, Hair
Dryer, Microwave, Refrigerator, Playstation, Nintendo, space heater - I could
save money by getting the inverter and use 120v items. A lot less expensive
and easy replacement anywhere. I also get to use real 120v lights instead of
the dimmer 12v stuff. Some energy management is required and your results may
vary.
The 12v coffee maker I saw mentioned 30 minutes brewing time. For that I
could have heated water on the propane stove and poured it into the unit
already hot. (actually I did do this one morning when we just stayed on the
hook too long for the batteries - they recovered)
Does anyone know of any 12v accessories that do work well?
