I should like to clarify something. You do not need a 2500 watt inverter
and a huge house bank just to run a coffe maker.
Most are rated at 800 - 900 Watts. Any 1000 watt plain jane inverter
will do the trick.
If the coffee maker takes 10 minutes to brew a pot of coffee, you will
draw about 100 amps for that time or 16.67 amp hours of energy. A
regular 8D battery will take that in stride no problem and still have
power enough left over.

But as Patrick rightly points out, if you plan on running the whole
household by way of an inverter, THAT is another proposition entirely!
