A "household" deep freeze has been in use on board our boat for about 5
years now, running almost constantly of a Statpower 1800 invertor. I also
have been running our Norcold fridge off the invertor as it draws less power
that way. I will be replacing the Norcold with a "household" fridge before
we relaunch Penta in the spring as the Norcold interior plastic has
attempted to return to its original "flat sheet" of plastic leaving very
little room for any food!!
Any way we have this combo going as long as we are away from the dock which
is usually about two months at a time and have never had any problems except
for the boaters who can't figure out how I got my "gen-set" to be so quiet
when they see us miles from a town eating ice cream !!
Look into an invertor and a ood battery bank - its sure much nicer than
listening to a gen-set all night.
