Steve, are you by chance using a transformer that was designed for 60 Hz and
shore power is 50 Hz ? (or the other way around ?) It may be that you have
a USA configured transformer that does not like a different frequency of
input power - maybe I am all wet because I am not certain what the standard
is down under.
