prudent to operate it just for say firing up the stove for a pot of coffee?

My 15 kw Onan (MDJF w/long stack) has been onboard since launching in 1979.
The head has never been off! I operate 4 separate AC units w/ a total of 46k
BTU's draw w/ no problem. OTOH, if I only am pulling a light load I don't
run it without additional load except for the time needed to toast the bread
or perk the water. I am told that runniing it with no or light load is bad,
as is having imbalanced loads on the two legs.
