Subject: TWL: Heat exchangers

I have "rodded out" heat exchangers with wooden dowel rods--something found
in virtually every hardware store. I have used 1/3 muriatic acid and 2/3
water (pour the acid into the water). However I prefer to take the heat
exchangers down to the local radiator shop which specializes in heat
exchangers, let them professionally clean them, inspect them and pressure
test them for leaks. The cost is minimal and I don't have to fool with
strong acid and the problem of what to do with the residual.
