Subject: TWL: walking the plank..

Dear List ,
After several threads last month concerning do's and don'ts about
documentation of a vessel. I cut and pasted some of the Coast Guards
official standing on the matter. It was longer than most post. (2 to 6
times bigger for a total of 13kb). I made the post early that morning
headed down to the Keys for several days of boating fun and that was
that.
After returning, I received two e-mail explaining that the mail was way
to big and should have been given just as a link. I was told some folks
apparently download from slow modems and as a courtesy we are asked to
"limit" the size of the post. It takes to much time to download.
(having an interest in trawlers, and the life style. Speed has not been
all that important to me. When I want speed I will go to the speed boat
forum :) ) For those who have slower equipment , and do use cell
phones to download I apologize for the oversized file.
If needed I can be reached at the town square for a public "stone"
throwing after I finish this cup of coffee.
Another (one of the original two) stated I should not of responded
publicly on the board to a private email sent to me. My feelings on
this matter are that the original post I made was posted for public
consumption. Any corrections or critique of such can and should be made
public for other to see and agree or disagree. The topic was not
started in private nor meant to be private. Most of the enjoyment of
this list and others is for all to voice there opinion and knowledge for
the rest to see. And as I have done " learn " from my mistakes.
For the others who responded thanking me for the post and found the
information helpful. (about 4 to 1) Thank you for your comments and
positive feedback . (received in private).
In closing I enjoy this list and am thankful for being able to use it
and be a part of it.
Thank you to those whose created and maintain it. It is a great source
of information for those of us who do not know it all. If I post in the
future I will pledge to not casually step out of line as I have done
before.
I am not sure of the size of this file so I will close here. In the
mean time , I will remain confined to the lazarette until the sea calms
and it is safe to come out.
Respectfully submitted,
Lynn -Tampa
