Hello All:

A couple of days ago I wrote:

And then Brian wrote:

This is good news! I talked to a girl at the VDC office and
she had it backwards - she claimed it would trickle charge 4 batteries and
only
desulphate one battery at a time.

Since the desulphation mode is what we are after, we can let
any charger keep the bank up while the BM does its magic?
As a test, I am running the BM and the house charger at the same time.
The BM did not blow-up or get hot, and the flashing pulse
indicator light is still binking- so all appears well.

And yes, several weeks are needed to to bring back the dead!
I find that discharging the battery a couple of times during this
polishing period speeds up the process.

New batteries only need a few days pulsing to increase their capacity
above that stated on their rating label.

And I now write again,
Alrid had written that several batteries would not allow the conditioning
process to work because of the impedence in the connecting cables. To see
if this was true, tonight I put an oscilloscope on the batteries. With 5
batteries in parallel, and the BatteryMinder on the center one, I could not
detect a pulse of any kind on the battery furtherest from the BM unit. As
I went toward the BM unit the pulse became stronger. When tested with only
one battery, the pulse was much stronger. So, I guess the word from VDC
Electronics wasn't that good. Go figure! :) I just wasted two weeks with
5 batteries on line and didn't do much, if any, good for them. Switched
back to single battery at a time.
