Another good reason for two tanks is that some campgrounds and
third-world-type places have a propane filling service. They grab your tank
for a day or two and return it full. Inconvenient with only one tank.
I've used those little in-line gauges for an approximate reading, available
at RV stores.
Dead propane tanks make good buoys!
