TWL: Fuel Polishing Problems

Subject: TWL: Fuel Polishing Problems

I just installed a fuel polishing system that includes a Walbro pump sucking
through a GCF JR (fuel version), a Racor 500 and a Fram water separator. All
filters have bypass valves. When I try to run the GCF, even with the other
filters bypassed, the vacuum climbs to 10" and the pump begins to labor and
then stops. When I bypass the GCF the vacuum drops to about 2" with the
other filters also bypassed, the vacuum is 5" with the GCF bypassed but the
Fram and Racor in-line. Is my pump bad or is the GCF too restrictive? Thanks
in advance for your advice and suggestions.
