Hi Garrett,

I think there may have been a misunderstanding here. I correspond with
Charlie Sims (Owner of GCF and the designer of these filters) fairly
regularly and I've always had the impression that he advocates fuel
polishing ESPECIALLY for intermittently used applications such as pleasure
boats.

Charlie has somewhat changed his position regarding bypass motor oil
filtration on recreational boats. He tells me that he has actually
recommended that customers carefully consider the economics of a bypass
system on an engine that will never accumulate many hours. He also says that
most folks buy and install the system anyway!

I have made several posts in the past about why I favor the installation of
a polishing system and I won't belabor those facts again. Often, after
making such a post, I'll receive a private message from Charlie indicating
his agreement with what I wrote. With that in mind I find it difficult to
believe that someone at GCF would recommend against a polishing system.

Disclaimer: I work for a distributor of Dahl filters but I really don't have
any stake in whether or not anyone else installs a polishing system.

Advocationally yours,

Alex
