Swivel will not fix that. We have a swivel (one of those Italian ones that
comes in two halves) on our all chain rode, have the exact same problem, and
the same procedure to overcome. We were going to remove the swivel, hoping
to overcome the problem, but are waiting for the jury on TWL to decide on
what is best.

BTW, on our secondary anchor, which has rope/chain rode (mostly rope), we
have NO SWIVEL, because adding them can cause problems when the rope is
heavily stretched and then recoiled, at least that is what I used to teach
years ago in the Canadian Power Squadron; I have no first-hand experience
with such a failure (on our previous boat I did not use a swivel on the rope
rode as the rode was braid-on-braid).

Interesting discussion.

<snip> plow anchor on all chain rode tends to rotate 1/4 turn as it is
being retrieved. Result is the anchor will not feed over bow roller.
Current fix is to raise and lower anchor 2 or 3 times until it rotates
back to straight-ahead position. Sometimes have to step onto bowsprit
and manually rotate it. UGH. Considering swivel unless listees have
better fix.
