Has anyone used units such as Interphase Probe or Twinscope forward
scanning sonar? Given all the discussions about radar and GPS plotters
it seems to me that knowing what you're about to hit under the water is
just as important as above the water (radar). I realize that at 7-8k a
1/4 mile range is only a minute or two but that could be precious. The
dual axis units should be great in channels to - eg ICW showing the
banks etc. What used to be a very expensive option is now as cheaper or
cheaper than radar. I'd be very interested to hear about other units
    than Interphase too...
