On a 51 foot vessel you probably have a waterline of about 45 to 48 feet.
Your calculated hullspeed would be around 9 to 10 knots.
Displacement weight is of little consequence.
To propel the vessel to designed hullspeed and to most efficiency, HP
requirement would be in the area right where your Mitsubishi is. 85 to 95
    HP.
Perfect for the vessel's intended purpose, especially considering the
torquey, slowturning and likely very long lasting powertrain.
I wouldn't change a thing, but then that's the Mossback in me.

Now, you could put in a 12 series Detroit with ouzels of HP, make the boat
sound like distant thunder coming up the bay, plow a 12 foot roller off your
bowwake and probably get as much as 12 knots out of her.
Of course owning stocks in a refinery would be helpful in the case of the
    latter.
