    Hi Joe

At the moment, it's on an all-plastic garden hose reel which stows in a
    locker.

I'd really like to mount a spool on a horizontal ss tube that I could clamp
in the safety rail opening to the swim platform, which, among other things,
would eliminate having to bend over. However, the challenge was a simple
rewind mechanism. I had lots of inspiration but nothing practical, eg adding
a smaller spool on the side that would wind up a 1/8 line as the 3/8 paid
out - pull the 1/8 and it winds the 3/8 back up - but what to do with the
1/8 after it's all over the deck? or a belt to a separate crank etc.

This remains very much a work-in-progress, but until the ultimate
inspiration arrives, the hose reel at least gets the line out and in without
    tangles.

    Cheers, Garrett
