    Hooray, hooray!

Hey Ray, I've been trying to say the same thing in non-technical terms on
this list for 2 years. Every once in a while someone will pop up on this
list and insist they were transmitting data while underway on their cell
phone at 19,200 or even 9,600. When I push a little, the story usually
changes. Underway usually doesn't work at all and 2400 is typical when
    motionless in a good area.

It's just not there yet. And they took my LEOS hopes and dashed them.

    Hey all,

I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on all of this cellular stuff. I have
been designing cellular phones for Ericsson for 12 years.

First, as you probably know, the same marketing scams that exist in all
other areas of people selling things exist in the cellular world also. What
it comes down to is: data rates *DO NOT* equal throughput.
