This morning I received copies of some private correspondence addressed to
our list owner Georgs in regards to my possible alternative motives to
coming up with this picture site idea.
(You know who you all are, and in the future, have the jam to write me
personally, instead of running to the teacher to tell on me.)
The correspondence copies of course were anonymous, so don't worry, Georgs
did not sell out any of you, who's belly aching in my opinion is nothing
    more than jealousy and insecurity.
(What about the commercial "messages" included in the signatures of some
listees. Are you going to be nitpicking at those next?)
No, I was not reprimanded by Georgs, as in his words I was not "blatant" and
    did nothing wrong. Yet.
But now I'm wondering about something, and I'll get to that in a minute.
But first, I'd like to draw the belly achers' attention to a number of
earlier posts that I have made through Bob Clinkenbeard, in regards to
setting up a site on www.50megs.com , just to be on neutral turf, exactly
for the prevention of this kind of backlash.
Please learn to read all the posts, not just the ones that serve your
purpose of causing an argument and spoiling things for everyone!
On 50Megs.Com, on Photopoint, on GeoCities and on every free site you go to,
there are commercial messages in one format or an other. Perfect example is,
how clear the point is made that this TW List Is Courtesy Of
    TrawlerWorld.Com!
There are no free lunches fellows!
So here is what I'm wondering about now.
We are in the process of creating a very high tech site for TWL images,
wherein each participating member will have his or her own "mini site" that
he or she can control and administer. The site is totally neutral turf! (And
will be free, without any commercial messages! Think about that for a
    minute!)
However, are there going to be people out there objecting against the
creator and host of this site ever to publicly announce who he is?
That would be like objecting to TrawlerWorld.Com, for ever stating that they
pay for the hosting of this list that we all use for free!
I want to make this very clear. I am not saying that we plan on any
commercialism what so ever on the TWL picture site. That has never been my
intention when I offered to host or administer the site, and it is not the
intention of the host and group of volunteers currently in the process of
    building the site.
I feel however, that if a host is gracious enough to put days of work into a
project and is providing disc space free of charge for our benefit, he
should at least be supported as a sponsor, and those of us who are enthused
about the project and will be using the product (website), should insist on
the sponsor not having to be forced to remain anonymous.
Those of you who never intend to use the picture site need not be concerned
    with these thoughts.
But those who will use the site, they need to ask themselves; what will I do
if I see something in regards to the picture site's opening, and I see
credits to building the site mentioning a person who does that for a living?
Will I make a big fuss and start the BS that will again spoil the whole for
everyone? Or can I just say thanks, and enjoy it.
    Think about it folks.
