    As one who takes far more from this forum than I could ever give, I too
    share the concerns re private email responses and what losses they may
    constitute. Having said that, it is also clear that there is an
    increasing number of trivial responses. I suggest that perhaps a useful
    guideline for private vs public response is simply that of "Would I
    want to find this when I query the archives?"
