    Also consider the folks that do electrical system work on sailboats as
    their passagemaking occurs with engine off and alot folks on sailboats don't
    have generators anyway.

    Just aboat every sailing vessel for serious cruising or passagemaking has
    two independent electric power sources, usually counting the engine
    alternator as one.
