You're absolutely right, of course. Sometimes we do get way over-the-top on
the finest details of arcane systems. If that kind of discussion
discourages or panics inexperienced listees, then that would be a shame.
I agree that we should continue to exploit our interest in minutia here on
the TWL as it piques our curiosity. So maybe you should volunteer to post a
regular, simple, encouraging notice to newbies to focus on the essentials
and regard our machinations on exotica with a jaundiced eye?
