When i bought my present boat, there were a 4d and 2 golf cart tied in the
same bank. This summer i walked in the boat and i could smell a problem. The
4d was so hot i`m surprised it didnt explode. After removal i got the book
out from my inverter and read it. There is a warning that says never miss
match type and if possible not even batteries of a different age.I replaced
with two new tractor batteries and have never had another problem. Steve

    >>>A point to remember, if you have an inverter, don't mix match batteries
    in the same bank.<<<
