There is quite a variation in the capacity of the series of batteries
commonly called "Golf Cart" battery.
If you look at an Exide CG220, the same dimensions as the Trojan 125 (125
A/H), you get 220 A/H out of them with a weight of 75 lbs.
Now if you are concerned with the footprint of the batteries but want the
maximum in A/H go to the Surrette CH375 (6 volts) which is 2 inches wider
than the CG220 but gives 375 A/H with 115 lbs. A heavy battery but still
managable.
As a lot of you will know the Surrette battery line is known as the Rolls
Royce of batteries, in fact the USA brand name I believe is "Rolls."
Although the price is a bit higher than conventional batteries they come
with a 3 year marine use guarantee.
Something to think about if you are doing a full replacement of your battery
bank.
