Samaki has gauges visable at lower station so they can be checked "at
speed". Big difference between 800 and 1800 RPM. About once a day I check
them. Any time they go above 10 in. I make a note to change them at the end
of the days run.
Here is my procedure.
turn off fuel, open "T" handle, (we have 900 Racors) drain about half fuel
into metal pan, remove used filter, install new filter (lowering new filter
only about three quarters way), pour fuel into still exposed center hole in
new filter until assembly is full, this step in to make sure that there is
no air inside the filter, (that metal pan is still under the filter) lower
the filter into the housing, top off with fuel, inspect "O" rings, install
top, install "T" handle. You will get some spilling of fuel during these
last steps, but you don't want any air in the filter assembly. turn on fuel
line, start engine.. I have never had to bleed the system.
