    Hi Rich,

I have been using two Trojan T105 batteries for starting over two years and
it has worked flawlessly. Both my starting bank and house bank are T105s.
2 for starting and six for the house.

A couple years ago I replaced an 8D house/starting battery with a pair of
paralleled Golf Cart (GC) batteries. Seems to work fine. The darned old
8Ds are just too heavy for us to handle any more, and the CGs fit where the
8D was. I only have 3 batt boxes (8D size). Generator is currently on an
8D, which is going bad. Other two batteries are house/starting for the two
Lehman 120s - there is an automatic parallel switch whenever a starter
button is pressed. I am seriously considering replacement of remaining two
8Ds with GCs as above so as to lessen the load when changing. I had a
friend years ago who did this and his starting capacity for his Lehman 120
seemed to suffer no ill consequences. Seems like two sets of GCs will roll
over a Lehman readily enough. Am not really concerned about any loss of
storage capacity since we don't use the boat for extended powerless outings
at anchor other than an occasional night here and there. I suppose I could
somehow find a way to add more CGs, if I found the need for more house
capacity. I'd be interested in any comments y'all have to offer.
