As you probably know by now (I spoke to Donna just minutes ago), we've been
able to place the coverage for you on Zurich's Quartermaster (their
liveaboard policy). The only problem previously was that they excluded
mechanical breakdown, so we went with Markel in order to get that coverage.
Then, last week, Zurich announced that they were about to change their yacht
policies to cover mechanical breakdown and I was able to convince their VP to
allow a manuscript endorsement to that effect on their existing Quartermaster
form.
I was then able to convince the underwriter at Markel to cancel their policy
on a pro-rata basis since they were not able to provide the personal
liability coverage.
