    Hi All...

Received a phone call from Dave Dutra yesterday morning. Pam & I enjoyed
dinner with Dave at WMTFest in Poulsbo in June. Dave told us at that time
he had a Grand Alaskan on order and he, his wife & two children were
preparing to breakaway from the drudgery of the workaday world & go cruising
for a couple of years once construction of the boat was finished. Yesterday
on the phone he told me the Grand Alaskan deal went "by the boards" due to
serious construction delays, etc. He subsequently shopped around and
eventually found a 64' Grand Alaskan in Illinois that is part of an estate
sale. The boat is nearly brand new and scheduled to be surveyed immediately
(tomorrow or Tuesday, I believe) and purchased thereafter (based on an
anticipated successful survey). They'll spend a week provisioning and then
    take off for warmer climes.

Dave asked me if I was interested in helping him bring the boat down the
Mississippi beginning mid-October and/or if I knew any other qualified crew
candidates. Told him I'm leaving on the 10th for the East Coast to help
Bruce & Joan Kessler take Spirit of Zopilote to Ft. Lauderdale from
Annapolis (on the 15th of October, straight line 850 miles and 4-5 days [WX
permitting] either just inside or outside the Gulf Stream). Suggested he
send a note to Georgs at Solomons WMTFest to see if there were interested
    candidates.

If anyone is interested, please send Dave a note:
