    Rick,

    I subscribe to your philosophy, but in some sense you are not making valid
    comparisons. Any reasonable person, regardless of his age, would put that
    kind of care into his boat's machinery because his safety depends on it. His
    life is less likely to depend on his laptop computer or RC airplane. Also,
    unlike some of today's appliances, your boat and its machinery was built to
    give long and faithful service if well cared for. Another consequence of not
    caring for your Lehman is the cost and aggravation of having it replaced
    prematurely.
