So far we've been lucky with the Y2K pre-shocks.
In 1997, a few credit cards with '00 expirations bounced. I
understand there are lawsuits about this one.
Post cereal had the notice "Best if consumed before March, 1900"
on the box tops for a while. This has been fixed.
The state of Maine DMV issued a number of "Horseless Carriage"
registrations. Most of those were caught before being mailed.
Some newspaper columnist who was running a small surplus
on his Radio Shack credit balance got an unaccountably large
refund shortly after 9/9/99. Radio shack insisted there
was nothing wrong with their software and wouldn't take the
money back.
I think that's about it.
Looks like y2k is going to be the source of more merriment than
trouble.
