Accuracy

Subject: Accuracy

Hi All,
The accuracy discussion is most interesting. One thing I would like to
mention
is the personal equation which from my experience is present in all of
us. I hark
back to the days when four of us would stand together on the bridge to
take
the noon mer.alt. and it was most interesting to observe that not one of
us
would come up with the same alt. at dipping time. The result was a
compromise
depending on the Captain's mood if bad he would use his own which it now

can be said was considerably different from the rest and if it persisted
showed
when making a landfall.
At the moment I am busy working on answers to questions I am giving to
my students and wonder if anyone is interested in taking on a couple.

2.Find the GMT and LMT of lower meridian passage of the Star Peacock on
   May 20th. 1977 in Lat.60°30'S, Long. 70°29'W.
   Regards to all,
   Barrie Hudson
